Michael Brown promoted to President
May 14, 2009
LEHIGH VALLEY, PA - Michael Brown has been appointed President of Acme Cryogenics, Inc., effective May 1, 2009. Acme’s current President and Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Blackburn, will retain the title of CEO and Brown will continue to report to Blackburn.

In addition to Brown’s current responsibilities for Acme’s global sales and marketing efforts, he will become responsible for all of Acme’s product development, operations, engineering and quality assurance/quality control divisions.

Brown began his career in the industrial gases industry over thirty years ago and spent fifteen of those years at MVE/Chart, where he held senior level positions in the sales and marketing department. He was also responsible for the general management of several business units within Chart. Just prior to joining Acme, he served as the Business Development Manager for Cryo Associates.

Brown joined Acme in 2006 as Director of Sales and Marketing. In addition to those responsibilities, in 2007 he became General Manager of Acme’s cryogenic vessel repair and refurbishment facility.

Commenting on the events, Blackburn stated “Mike’s extensive industry knowledge, combined with his previous experience here at Acme, position him to be highly effective as Acme’s President. I am grateful Mike has been a part of this team, and I have every confidence his new leadership position will allow him to create even more value for our customers, stakeholders and shareholders.”

Brown commented, “I am thrilled and humbled by this opportunity. Acme, like many other companies, is carefully navigating this difficult financial and business environment. We have sharpened our focus on the intersection of our core strengths and our customers’ needs and will continue to provide products and services of the highest possible quality and value. We have uncovered some exciting opportunity through this process, and I look forward to leading the Acme organization as we bring these opportunities to market.”
