Acme Cryogenics is the premier supplier of Vacuum Insulated Piping systems worldwide. We offer quality, cost effective systems designed to minimize heat leak and maximize efficiency and savings over time. Each Vacuum Insulated Piping system is designed for efficient transfer of cryogenic liquid at pressures up to 150 psi or greater. Our piping features double wall construction that has an inner pipe for the transfer of liquid and an outer pipe to support and retain the vacuum insulation. The inner and outer pipe is constructed of 300 series stainless steel. Insulation is a low vacuum with multiple layer insulation (MLI).
Acme’s VIP is designed to reduce the amount of heat leak caused by conduction, convection and radiation. Our piping can offer significant savings versus foam and dynamic vacuum pipe.
The Acme team designs, manufactures and tests our vacuum insulated piping and components using the highest available standards.
All Inner Process, Outer Jacket Welds – Helium mass spectrometer tested at 1 x 10-9 cc/second, sealed at 9 microns or less.
Inner Process Lines – Pneumatic testing at 1.1 times the design pressure.
Spool Assembly – Vacuum pump down and bakeout and one week vacuum retention periods with daily monitoring.
Inner Carrier Line – ASME/ANSI B31.3 (Chemical Plant and Petroleum Refining Piping) for 150 PSI.
Outer Vacuum Jacket – ASME Code Section VIII for Unfired Pressure Vessels with an internal vacuum and external atmospheric pressure with the assembly at ambient temperature.
Certified Welders – Qualified per ASME Section IX Pressure Vessels and ANSI B31.3 for MIG, TIG and orbital welds.
